Year 2 visit Elstow Recycling Centre

At the Recycling Centre we learnt what to recycle and how to do recycling.  We saw pictures of huge yellow machines burying rubbish at a landfill and we discovered that our households produce 1 tonne of rubbish every year.  Then we went out to where recycling was done.  WE had special headphones so that we could hear what the lady was saying about where we were.  We went past the sheep dip where all the poor quality paper goes.  It smelt like rotten eggs.  Then we explored the good quality paper room.  There were orange recycling bags, a GIANT heap of magazines, paper and lots more! Last of all we learnt that plastic bottles are made into wool.                 Amy 2L

Mrs Taylor and Mrs Fuller did the Moon Walk in 3 hours

Have you seen Mrs Taylor and Mrs Fuller out walking around Bedford? They are training to take part in the 'Moon Walk'. The 'Moon Walk' 2007 takes place in London on Saturday 19th May. It starts just before midnight. Mrs Taylor and Mrs Fuller will walk 13 miles starting and finishing in Hyde Park. The 'Moon Walk' is organised by the health charity Walk the Walk Worldwide. This charity has already raised over £24 million for Breast Cancer Research and Cancer Care. Mrs Taylor and Mrs Fuller will be collecting donations before school on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th May. They say "Please donate to this charity and make our blistered feet and tired legs, not to mention being soaked to the skin during our training walks worthwhile!"
